The Night Time !!
Another one of my older stuff, trying to explore the
night time, when all of us are sleeping, getting over what happened during
the course of day and hoping for an even better tomorrow. Some making
promises to themselves that tomorrow would be different,
others thanking God for the day they had, slowly creeping into the wonderland
of dreams. Some of us are waiting for sleep and others struggle to keep awake.
Some listen to the eerie
silence of the night and others are trying to differentiate the call of night
birds against the backdrop of traffic.
But what about the night, it stays awake slithering
between empty spaces, hiding from light. Night is wonderful, with
it's promises of sleep it mitigates our pain; and with it's promises
of morning it gives us hope. Night brings along darkness, which hides
away the stark reality and lets us dream.
Maybe that
is why most of the impractical but wonderful suggestions are made at night
time. Reality and practicality
seem as distant as sunrise and the darkness gives us leeway to imagine anything.
But what
about the night, the smiling, silent warrior fighting for us and our dreams before
gallantly giving way to the day??
Dreams of the
night are still,
Is it compulsion or is it will?
Creating dreams for one and all,
The dark knight took its fall.
Gallant warrior feeding us with sleep,
Waiting for the sun to creep.
Floating between rivers and tree,
Setting us and our dreams free.
The brave heart knew it would perish,
Still each moment it chose to cherish.
The call of birds would break it down,
And in the sea of light, the night would drown.
I always think about myself.. how I feel or what I go through in this journey of each night!
ReplyDeleteI never thought of being grateful to it for letting me dream- contradicting reality, hoping for a bright morning.
After reading your post. I'm sure I will be much grateful 'when the dark knight takes its fall'! :)
Thanks for the comment :) well yeah we do take the night for granted don't we....but what would our days value without nights...i think the best way to end a day and embrace a night is being being grateful for all that we have...Gratitude..and goodnight :)
DeleteI agree.. Thanks for this wonderful piece of writing.
ReplyDeleteGoodnight :)
